Wouldn’t you love to deepen your yoga and meditation practice? How about taking some time to unwind in the idyllic Polish countryside at the foothills of the Izera Mountains?
Allow me to take you there for a moment. Imagine waking up in a quiet, ecological oasis among the mountains. You slip on your cozy yoga outfit and wind your way through a tastefully refurbished old manor house into a beautifully renovated barn. The warmth of the wooden floor invites you to unroll your mat. A gentle breeze of fresh mountain air brushes against your skin as you take your first deep breath in. It’s time to begin the morning yoga session.
As the day unfolds, you enjoy a delicious and nourishing brunch while connecting with your peers. Then, you may choose to embark on a hike through the Izera Montains, visit a nearby waterfall, enjoy single-track mountain biking, or explore Świeradów Zdrój - a spa and health town known for its rare radon mineral waters and healing mud and spruce bark baths.
You’re feeling strong, fit and healthy practicing Ashtanga yoga in the morning, spending your day outside and deepening your practice through the afternoon classes, workshops and meditation.
If you can picture yourself here, join us for an incredible week full of yoga and hiking, just four hours south-east of Berlin by train or car.
I’ve wanted to host a yoga retreat in my home country for years, and after searching for a suitable venue, I’m excited to share my discovery with you!
We will be staying at a unique eco-retreat center in Świeradów Zdrój. The manor house has been renovated using regional ecological building materials and designed to serve as a place for personal development and growth. The rustic exterior and modernised interior provide an ideal place for both practice and relaxation.
In October 2020, I traveled to meet the owners of the manor house and experience the accommodations and surroundings. There I learned some interesting facts about the house itself:
For the accommodation options, you can choose from either a two-person or three-person room. Every two rooms form part of a spacious apartment with private living room (some with a fireplace), beautifully finished interiors and bathrooms.
Our meals will be vegetarian, sourced from organic, regional yummy produce. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies just let us know; we’d be happy to accommodate you. Spaces are limited so please reserve your spot early.
This yoga retreat is lead by me - Marta. Over the years, yoga has become an integral part of my life. I have a strong background in both technical and therapeutic aspects of yoga and meditation, and I’ve been sharing my passion for it through teaching for over eight years. When I’m not teaching, I love to go for long walks in the forest, hike up steep hills, or simply let myself float in a crystal clear lake. Feel free to read more about my path here.
The spring retreat is designed for all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners. If you’re familiar with the Ashtanga sequence or would like to do another form of self practice, in the mornings you’ll be invited to join a Mysore style class. If you’re just beginning your yoga journey or would like a little more guidance through the series, the led Ashtanga Basics class will be a good choice for you.
In the afternoon workshops, we’ll work all together, focusing on certain elements of the practice. In a playful way we’ll explore various inverted poses, arm balances and backbends at a level that’s good for you. As the day draws to an end, we’ll meet for a meditation practice and then share a nourishing meal together.
Our location is easy to access from Berlin. You can drive or take a train to Rębiszów (train from Berlin to Görlitz and then from Görlitz to Rębiszów (one every hour) and then either bike or take a taxi from the station. Our stay is about 14 km away from the train station in Świeradów Zdrój. Sharing a ride with other participants is also a possibility. You will receive further instructions upon registration.
